No to Frieda McFadden
no to Colleen Hoover
Not a fan of their writing
No smut just a good story
Enjoy horror and fantasy and medieval themes as well!
I really enjoyed Darren Shans Demonata series, I am Pilgrim, Shutter Island.. and I did love the Divergent and Hunger Games back in the day as well (I tried Fourth Wing… nope.) Currently reading Between Two Fires and love it.

Based on what you loved, definitely check out The Road by Cormac McCarthy – has that dystopian vibe like Hunger Games but way darker and more literary. Also maybe try The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin if you want something that blends fantasy with apocalyptic themes
Red Rising if you’re up for another series. FWIW, I’m currently in the middle of the 2nd book and can’t speak to the quality of the entire series, but thus far it’s been amazing.
The first book was very hunger games esque
Gone World
Blood Over Bright Haven!!!!!!!
Your Life Does Not Exist by Robert Pagano. Thriller with a scifi twist that ends on a very bleak note. I love it.
His Bloody Project by Graeme McRae Burnet
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel
The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco
The chrysalids by John Wyndham
