Reading a novel now and thought maybe after opening it back up the book thought for a second maybe it skipped from chapter 31 to 33. But i realized I just placed the book mark wrong going before going to sleep.
Thought it would be an interesting idea where its done nonchalantly and later you realize it wasn’t a publishing error but a missing gap in the story or characters mind.
Also got me thinking if there is are any books like memento out there.

Read up on Finnegans Wake.
For what I remember… Pet Sematary does this a little, where an important character’s death is told incredibly nonchalantly that it took me off guard in one chapter (in a “If only he knew that X was going to die, he would do things differently” kind of way). And then the next chapter or so starts with the funeral… Just for us to get back to the death scene later on in a flashback. And it was so shocking and disorientating to me in every good way.
