Hello and sorry for the gross but honest title. I am looking for a book, either non-fiction or fiction, that has short and quick chapters with a ton of them. Something such as Mason Currey's "Rituals" as an example in terms of short chapters. I like all types of non-fiction and fiction, except for science fiction or any anime-type thing or anything with pictures. Thank you!

The Hike by Drew Magary, if I remember right all chapters are about 7-10 pages
On This Day in History Shit Went Down and On This Day in History Shit Went Down: Number 2, by James Fell. Short essays of historical events and people, some well known, some obscure. The author’s writing style involves a lot of profanity. If you want to get an idea what his writing is like before buying his books, he posts on Facebook and Substack (Sweary History with James Fell: Those who cannot remember the past…need a history teacher who says “fuck” a lot).
The Robert B. Parker Spenser detective series. These tend to be fairly short novels with very short chapters.
They are enjoyable and quite witty. After Parker’s death, two other crime writers continued the series.

The Art of War
Discworld series is long and easy to pick up and put down as needed. The books don’t have short chapters, but you could read a few pages every day and not be confused. Very amusing and funny!
Anything by Elizabeth Acevedo (The Poet X, With the Fire on High, Clap When You Land)

I think you should also look into short stories like Rashomon and The Yellow Wallpaper.
If you want a long book that has short chapters, The Count of Monte Cristo.

He wrote many of his books in small bite sized chunks, sometimes literally on a napkin.
Dan Brown’s thrillers have really short cliff-hanger chapters.

Richard Brautigan’s stories are very short and sometimes surreal. Try *Trout Fishing in America* or *A Confederate General From Big Sur*.
The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green was very popular a few years ago. Short, funny, poignant non-fiction essays about stuff like ginkgo trees or a hot dog stand in Iceland. (It is very different from his YA novels like The Fault In Our Stars)

I’d only suggest this as an ebook because sitting on the toilet with a 1,000+ page book sounds uncomfortable.
[The Executioner’s Song by Norman Mailer](https://www.ketofocus.com/recipes/keto-french-toast-casserole/) follows the death row inmate Gary Gilmore as he fights *to* die for his crimes. It’s in my top five books of all times and it’s perfect for you because it has ridiculously bite-size chapters. It’s super easy to read a little or a lot.
