I am finishing up The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy and will need a palate cleanser after that cause ๐ฎโ๐จ itโs a heavy traumatic read- exceptionally well written. I want something lighthearted next. Any recs? I like mysteries, historical fiction and contemporary fiction.

I follow up heavy reads with what I call cake. I’ll dip into the Stephanie Plum series by Evanovich or the Reacher series by Lee Child.
Not fiction, but I really enjoyed A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. He’s very funny, lighthearted.
Shoeless Joe by WP Kinsella
Automatic Noodle by Analee Newitz

HEAVY AF.. makes the “prince of tides” read like a -Sophie Kinsella novel….
These three qualify as light/whimsically funny.. I’ve read all 3
