Suggest me a book as funny, absurd and easy to read as The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

as the title says. i loved this series because of how easy it was to get into right from the first page. the world building was gradual, rather than throwing you in headfirst and leaving you to put the pieces together as time goes on. (not that there’s anything wrong with that, I’m just not in the mood for it). you could also never tell what was going to happen next, it felt like a fever dream. and then of course, the humor. it felt like there was not a sentence in the entire series that wasn’t funny in some way.

these are all the things I loved about this series, so I’m looking for books (that are not discworld) that are similar in these ways. thank you!
