Can you suggest any sci-fi/fantasy books with found family? I don't read a lot of novels, but think Guardians of the Galaxy, Teen Titans, One Piece, or any number of JRPGs.
The Expanse series hits this vibe perfectly – starts with just a crew on a ship but they become this tight-knit family through all the space drama. Also check out Becky Chambers’ Wayfarers books, super cozy found family vibes in space

Becky Chambers’ sci-fi **The Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet** has a woman running from her past. She hires on with a construction spaceship traveling across space to its next job. Most of the found-family plot consists of interactions between the multi-species crew and incidents that occur along the way.

Based on what you enjoy, you’d probably like The Cradle series by Will Wight, starting with the book **Unsouled**. A fast-paced, original, ‘progression fantasy’ series, which takes a lot of inspiration from Shonen like One Piece, Naruto, among other things!
In a highly magical world, Lindon is forbidden from studying the ‘sacred arts’ of his clan, and must set out on an adventure to forge his own path. A great cast of lovable characters (found family), especially from book 2 onwards, creative and unique world building/magic, and an epic story told over the course of 13 fairly quick books. I’d highly recommend checking out the audiobooks, since they’re some of the best out there and really elevate the series, really add to the anime vibes imo! Narrated by Travis Baldree. Throw one on while cleaning or going for a walk, and get lost in an epic tale of magic and adventure.
