I read to an elderly lady who lost her sight and has memory issues. She used to enjoy reading, specifically mysteries. However, due to her memory issues I don’t want to read a novel that I would have to continue over multiple weeks, or has a lot of confusing characters and twists. We have been reading the Chicken Noodle Soup books and those have been good for her. Is there anything like that for mysteries? Or just any short mysteries that we could get done in about 30 minutes (her attention span)?

Have you tried the Encyclopedia Brown books? They’re super short mystery stories that wrap up in like 10-15 minutes each and don’t have complex plots or tons of characters to keep track of
Agatha Christie wrote a bunch of short story collections, as did several other Golden Age mystery writers. How about:
