Suggest me contemporary fiction that contains beautiful prose without using complicated words.

I want to read a masterclass in writing prose that doesn't make me open up my thesaurus every 2 seconds. Something that contains beautiful writing in and of itself without the use of random archaic words nobody has spoken since 1776.

Any genre works. My only requirement is that it should be fairly recent in both setting and publication:

1. The book must be set in the 20th century or later.

2. The book must've been published in the last 30-40 years.
