I don't want redemption, none of this. No trauma, no nonsense. Just shallow, hollow people who do shitty things without a care in the world.
Give me books that match exactly that. I don't mind European books, less known books. AND PLEASE DON'T RECOMMEND AMERICAN PSYCHO.

Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë
The Secret History, Donna Tartt (probably the closest match to your description)
Conversations with Friends, Sally Rooney
You said not American Psycho but maybe Less Than Zero, Brett Easton Ellis
My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. There is nothing likable about the main character, but I absolutely loved the book. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but might be worth checking out!
The Guest
Perfection
I know it’s YA, and definitely not well-written, but the Gossip Girl series is pretty much this description. No depth, very shallow, with people doing shitty things.
The Great Gatsby?
Jilly Cooper’s Rutshire series..
The characters are all terrible people with a couple exceptions.. and it reads like soap opera trash haha
– The Secret History – Donna Tartt
– If We Were Villians – M.L. Rio
– Vicious – V.E. Schwab
– Vengeful – V. E. Schwab (sequel to the above ‘Vicious’)
Lightning Rods by Helen Dewitt!
The Guest by Emma Cline fits this description perfectly.
Read the books of Raymond Carver. That pretty much fits the description.
Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk
The compound
I’m not sure if there’s an English translation but I recently read a book called “Fim” by Fernanda Torres that fits this description very well
BOY PARTS…I will scream this book from the rooftops. It’s so good and literally everyone sucks.
Tampa by Alissa Nutting.
The people in the ruins are basically all assholes with little depth
Slow Death by Stewart Home
Bad Summer People. It’s just awful rich people behaving badly. I laughed and laughed.
I, Claudius by Robert Graves. A very long book about shitty people doing shitty things.
The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P by Adelle Waldman
Gone Girl
