I’m dyslexic so it’s not that I hate reading I just struggle with it… 😭 but I love the whole misfit main character escaping to another world … Can anyone recommend something abit obscure?…. Potienally more grown up maybe abit of horror or something ….

Have you tried The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix Harrow? It’s got that portal fantasy vibe but way more atmospheric and darker than typical YA stuff. The writing style is pretty accessible too which might help with the dyslexia thing

Also maybe check out audiobooks for stuff like this – sometimes hearing the story flow can make the whole experience way better when you’re dealing with reading struggles
