Hi! Can anyone suggest some fiction to me that's about ups and downs of friend group dynamics? I've been looking for relatively low-stakes plots – no one's getting murdered, no gore or violence, etc. In this vein so far I've read The Wilderness by Angela Flournoy, Thirst Trap by Gráinne O’Hare, and have started Really Good Actually by Monica Heisey. (The Flournoy book was good but kind of depressing and dryly literary. The O'Hare book was hilarious but omg there was so much drugs and sex, it was a little hard to relate to. The Heisey book is so far kind of a post-breakup recovery story with a supportive friend group …) Can anyone recommend more that I might like? I kind of just want to read about normal middle class people with low-stakes friend group issues, lol.
