I just got back into reading and I love unexplained, weird, bizzare, unsettling and creepy atmospheric stuff. Even tho I love it so much, I am noobs on this book genre since in the past I mostly read fantasy like Silmarillion, LoTR, a lot of Haruki Murakami, sci-fi and non-fictions. Also read a lot of mangas. So I knew a lot about Junji Ito already.
I just started again with King in Yellow, Diavola and Strange Houses. I didn't quite like Diavola. I love King in Yellow and quite like Strange Houses.
House of Leaves has been sitting in my collection for a long time but I haven't got into it (yet). I also have The Southern Reach books, Strange Pictures, A Short Stay in Hell and The Fisherman ordered and on the way. I heard a lot of good things about The Fisherman and looking forward to it.
I want to be spooked to the point I would closed the book, or go into googling rabbit hole looking for explanations and theories after reading. Thanks!

Gods of Eden. The only book EVER that I had to put down because of how plausible it was.
Our Wives Under The Sea. I wouldn’t say it’s totally in the nose bizarre but it’s super unsettling. One of my top books from last year.
You Weren’t Meant to be Human was unsettling 100% through, I wouldn’t recommend it within any other context
