The recommendations don’t have to be other books by Fredrik Backman, but I really love his writing style, character development, and the warmth that runs through his stories. I’ve also read Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, which I enjoyed for similar reasons.

Try Emily Austin, like Interesting Facts about Space.
I would suggest other Fredrik Blackman books, specially the Bear Town series, just so good. I read A Man Called Ove but did the Bear Town series (3 books) on audio and throughly enjoyed them.
The Road to Tender Hearts
Where’d You Go, Bernadette

I also recommend the rest of Backman’s books: Britt-Marie Was Here, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, Things My Son Needs to Know About the World, and the Beartown trilogy (which is a bit darker than his other stuff, but excellent). Also Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.
Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley
How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper
Honestly, Charles Dickens. I normally can’t stand books that are designed to pull at heartstrings and be uplifting, but Dickens can pull it off, and as much as I wanted to hate A Man Called Ove, I have to admit, Backman can pull it off. It is a rare gift.
