I’ve read Beautiful Shining People by Michael Grothaus once a year for the past three years.
If you are looking for non-fiction, Man’s Search for Meaning is a 1x a year read for me too.

LOTR, it’s one of my all time favourites so (although I have skipped a few years) it has been a tradition for a while now, but lately I’ve taken it to a whole new level and given myself the perfect excuse for picking it up every year by doing a real-time readalong from September to March (the last few chapters are so drawn out in time (and in most cases the dates aren’t specified) I just finish them up at the end of the month once the ring is destroyed). My other annual reread is Murakami’s Norwegian Wood, it’s very personal to me and I feel like there’s always something new to take away from it. The latter is just my own thing, but regularly rereading LOTR is something that I can and always do wholeheartedly recommend to everybody

I don’t have the right personality for an annual read, but some I return to every 2-3 years are Piranesi, Moby Dick, and The Lord of the Rings
