My wife and I are heading to Mexico for a long weekend since our football team was rudely eliminated from the playoffs.
Generally, 99% of my reading is reserved for non-fiction but for this trip, I am looking for a fast paced page turner to read while soaking in the sun. In the past, I have enjoyed Andy Weir, John Grisham, Taylor Jenkins-Reid.
Have you read anything recently that you would recommend?

The Wager – David Grann. It’s technically non fiction, but reads like a great fiction book. Insane story that keeps the pages turning.
Or, for a more full fiction vibe, anything by Frederick Backman. “Anxious People” is particularly good.
The Director by Daniel Kehlmann
Dark matter – Blake crouch. Very much in the Andy weir vein
Oldie-but-goodie(s) – Red Dragon and Silence of The Lambs by Thomas Harris
Shotgun Lovesongs, The Last King of California, and Everybody Knows, all by Jordan Harper are fantastic. Fast-paced, gritty, beautifully-written. They are three of my favorite crime novels of the last few years.
Jurassic Park – Michael Crichton
The Doorman by Chris Pavone?
All systems Red and sequels. by Wells
Red Rising series
Everybody Knows by Jordan Harper had me locked in. Very atmospheric with some good main characters.
I really love the Eddie Flynn series. Con artist turned lawyer whose >!daughter is kidnapped to force Eddie to represent an evil mobster!< The series only gets better from there.
