What novels reveal the true nature of love?

In high school I had an assignment to select two novels that examine and offer revelations about a big theme. I chose the theme of romantic love and I chose "Wuthering Heights" and "A Farewell to Arms," but I've been thinking lately about what I would chose now, many years later. Curious what others would have selected to examine love from different angles and perspectives!
