I read quite a lot, mostly novels and non fiction, and I'd like to read more plays. I only know pretty famous ones , but I read Look Back In Anger by John Osborne a few years ago when I was on vacation and had limited access to books, and I remember I really enjoyed it.

I've read the famous Arthur Miller and Tennessee Williams ones and some Shakespeare. I'd love your recommendations. Thanks!

‘Lysistrata’ by Aristophanes. Ancient Greek sex comedy.

‘The Mandrake Root’ by Machiavelli. (Yes, that Machiavelli) Renaissance Italian sex comedy.

    2. Hurray! I like reading plays, too. I love the “other” Renaissance playwrights and Jacobean plays, and recently reread Christopher Marlowe, John Webster, Thomas Middleton, and my fave Ford’s ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore.

If in a more modern mood, I like short one-acts by Sam Shepherd.

And, if wanting something very modern, I recommend Fleabag: The Scriptures by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It’s all 12 episode scripts.
