Hi,
I am currently reading On Photography – Susan Sontag. I am blown away by it. I am looking for a book similar to that. Books that offers commentary, Philosophical insights and view of the world? or a particular subject? Travel biographical journal? about family? A book that makes think / see the the world – time and a place that I haven't been. For example focus on perhaps South America? or May be Africa or Australia?
More context / My likes…
I am a millennial. I used to love reading classical novels (e.g. Mark Twain, Connon Doyle, Kenneth Grahame, Edgar Rice etc). Then I stopped reading for about 20 years. Recently, I am going through some personal circumstance that makes me feel lost and re-evaluate world around me. I am trying to make sense of things and have a craving for the past… time before the technology.
So, I've been trying to do basic things I used to love and enjoy and taken up reading again. So far, last few weeks I finished HItchhiker's guide to the Galaxy. I am reading Beyond Good and Evil – Friedrich Nietzsche alongside On Photography – Susan Sontag.
Hitchhiker's guide to galaxy – Interesting took a while to get used to it but throughly enjoyed.
I never read a philosophical book like "Beyond Good and Evil". It's a hard read for me but I am trying to keep up. On Photography alot more easier read and full of relatable quotes about the world and photography with reference to historical events and culture

Sometimes when people ask for reading recommendations and offer prompt titles they’ve enjoyed, I try to think of what I’d put with their preferred works to build a syllabus that had those books kind of in conversation with one another. Anyway, with the Sontag, my first instincts would be to read alongside John Berger’s *Ways of Seeing* or Walter Benjamin (who interestingly grapples with emerging technologies of the early 20th Century).
