We accidentally grabbed a book that had incest, rape, and pedophilia which we would like to avoid (my mistake for not looking into it more). But we’d love a fun thrilling mystery or even other books people may recommend that you think would be good for a couples book club?

My husband and I really enjoyed the Veronica Speedwell series which has a very slow burn couple solving mysteries together in the 1880s. Lots of fun witty banter, great chemistry between the leads, wild adventures and saving each other from endless peril.
Donald Westlake wrote very funny mysteries – my favorite is “Smoke” which is also a take on another genre, but I don’t want to spoil it.
