    Hello everyone!

I’m on the hunt for a slow-burn romance that actually feels earned. I recently tried A Court Of Thorns and Roses, but the romance felt rushed from barley knowing each other to in love (I know people loved it but it just wasn't it for me). I realized I need some TENSION. I looking for a story where the characters are forced together by the plot, but take forever to admit their feelings.

    What I’m looking for:

I love a good Fantasy or Mafia setting, but open to anything.

I want to see them go from strangers/enemies to friends/allies to oh no, I love them over a long period.

A solid plot that isn't just the romance.

Spicy content is welcome. I also would love a good series so it doesn't end to quickly.

What are your "top tier" slow burns that kept you guessing? Thanks for any suggestions!!

How about The Dragonian? It’s the first book in a YA , enemies to lovers series that genuinely keeps you guessing until the very end. Things get bad. Like really really bad. The main character keeps complaining that things are very hard for her and no one is helping her, and this is actually true, very minor spoiler: >! There is someone who is supposed to be helping her and they have fu***d right off!< did I mention that there are dragons? Yep, Dragon human shapeshifters.

    2. The Lord Peter Wimsey murder mysteries have this, spread over four books (with a few very good mysteries without a romance angle in between).

Our heroes’ meet-cute is that he sets out to prove she didn’t commit murder. She’s a mystery writer; he’s a detective, and they “yes, and…” each other about murder plots. He proposes to her IN LATIN. She regularly compares him to a wading bird and has a whole “oh no, he’s hot” moment while they’re investigating a crime on the beach.

      They are True Romance.
