So I just finished Between Two Fires and it is the first book to get a 10/10 from me. I value efficient storytelling and craft above all else. Is there anything else you would recommend that is as tight, focused, and well written? Open to any/all genres.

Not gonna lie. I had a HUGE book hangover after reading Between Two Fires and haven’t read anything comparable since. The only thing I would even remotely suggest would be Joe Abercrombie’s The Devils just because it’s also gothic medieval fantasy but it leans way more towards the not taking itself too seriously vein than Between. Think more Buffy the Vampire Slayer with an R rating and the gothic medieval fantasy setting than serious and dark like Between. If you get any good suggestions that pan out, let me know!
