I am a big fan of anthropology, specifically medical anthropology. I am still reading Debt: The First 5,000 Years" by David Graeber and I love it so much. It's way of challenging our daily narratives with an anthropological lens is truly inspiring. I would love to see the same approach on medical topics, medical anthropology!

    1. I haven’t read that book, so I’m definitely adding it to my to read list!

However, similar sounding books that might fit what you’re looking for (in decreasing levels of density).

The Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee

Stiff by Mary Roach. Also possibly relevant are Bonk, Spook, and Gulp.

Everything is Tuberculosis by Hank Green. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this.
