I'm looking for a book for a friend of mine. We don't know each other super well, but he's part of my extended friend circle. We met during our literature studies many moons ago. His birthday is coming up and I want to give him a book.

About him: He's in his late 20s, loves movies, studies film (something something), and is a very quircky person in the best way.

Preferred genres: fantasy, young adult fantasy, sci-fi.

Preferrably not part of a series if that's still possible nowadays lol

It is part of an enormous series, but Terry Pratchett’s *Moving Pictures* is exactly what you’re looking for in every other respect.

Alternatively, William Goldman’s *Adventures in the Screen Trade* and its sequel *Which Lie Did I Tell?* are a brilliant combination of charming Hollywood autobiography and screenwriting bible by one of the greatest screenwriters of all time.
