Books Outside of Your Usual Genre

I like many others have fallen down the Dungeon Crawler Carl series last year & was surprised how much I enjoyed it.
It got me thinking about how specific books opened me up to a new genre in the past as well.
So I’m looking for suggestions of amazing books/series that you thought you’d never read, or got you into a genre you’d never explored, or assumed you’d not enjoy but ended up being blown away by it!
