Hello! Im trying to find some strictly non fiction book recs for my AP Lang class to read. We can pick any book aslong as its strictly non fiction and it has to be 200 pages or more. Something queer or philosophy works but im good with anything. I've been thinking Straightjacket by Mathew Todd or Queer Ducks (and Other Animals): The Natural World of Animal Sexuality

Straight Jacket by Matthew Todd is a great option! Queer Ducks is a bit lower reading level for an AP Lang class, imo.
An alternative idea is In the Dream House, by Carmen Maria Machado
I used Freakonomics for a few years then switched to Homicide by David Simon which the students loved.
Mans Search for Meaning
Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
This sub helped me kick off the year with a nonfiction reading list! A couple queer books including the Patti Smith autobiography and a biography of drag queen Candy Darling who was in the Andy Warhol, Tennessee Williams type crowd in New York. I also gave 4 5 star ratings that I’ll link.

What is Lang Class so we know more of what you’re studying?
However, generally, a good short book like that (in the 200s) from last year would be Everything Is Tuberculosis by John Green. It was short, easily readable, and really interesting.
