I'm looking for something to read to my son at bedtime as a routine. I'm a 90s kid so I'd love something similar to the Jan Brett, Tomie dePaola, Maurice Sendak etc beautiful illustrations and something that's a poem to get that lullaby feel.
Some examples of the vibe I'm looking for are: The Owl and the Pussycat, Fox's Dream, Chicken Soup with Rice, Anna's Summer Songs, Wynken Blynken and Nod. Doesn't need to be specifically about night or bedtime and preferably not specifically about winter, but I'm looking for a pensive, soft, dreamy, magical kind of feeling rather than these bedtime books about brushing our teeth. I keep thinking there's something I've forgotten that's exactly what I want!

Owl Moon by Jane Yolen
Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. Not a picture book, but there are some nice illustrations.
