Hi, I (34 M) am trying to get into reading on the recommendation of my wife who is an avid reader. However we are having issues finding a good place to start. I have been reading Manga since middle school and by high school was exclusively reading Manga. So if you can I would like some recommendations. Based on your manga taste it looks like you’re into adventure stories with some supernatural/fantasy elements and good world building. You might want to check out Brandon Sanderson’s stuff – maybe start with Mistborn since it has magic systems that feel kinda like power scaling in manga. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss could work too since it has that epic journey vibe similar to One Piece
If you want something closer to the monster hunting aspect try The Lies of Locke Lamora or maybe even some urban fantasy like Dresden Files
