Bc of this Asian drama I just watched, I suddenly wondered if there are any romance books you guys could recommend where the fmc has sex for the first time with mmc and because of this, mmc treats fmc so preciously.
Has to be:
1. Really well written. I do not enjoy most modern books so I am a bit picky. For example, I rarely enjoy booktok recommendations like Coleen Hoover.
2. NO large age gap. Around 10 yrs or less is fine.
3. FMC and MMC are both mature characters. I dislike romance stories where characters are supposed to be in their 20s to 30s but act like teenagers. (Im also ok with new adult, as long as characters act like their supposed age.)

Check out “The Hating Game” by Sally Thorne – the MMC is incredibly tender and protective after their first time together, and both characters are genuinely mature despite the enemies-to-lovers setup. Another solid pick is “Beach Read” by Emily Henry where the emotional weight of intimacy is handled really thoughtfully without any of that cringe dialogue that plagues a lot of contemporary romance.
Both avoid the booktok pitfalls you mentioned and the characters actually feel like real adults dealing with adult emotions.
