Hello! Looking for some recommendations! I’m currently studying environmental science and would like some books to essentially complement my studies without being necessarily a theory/college book.
If anyone has any good recommendations for books about ecology, environmental science, nature, chemistry and even general science that would be amazing. I’ve recently read
✅braiding sweetgrass by robin wall kimmerer
✅the hidden life of trees by peter wohlleben
✅fens bogs and swamps by Annie proulx
and enjoyed them. Looking for similar books to that.
Thanks in advance

since you liked braiding sweetgrass, definitely check out “gathering moss” by robin wall kimmerer – it’s her earlier work and just as beautiful. “the overstory” by richard powers is fiction but incredibly ecology-focused and fits that same vibe of nature having agency.
for something a bit different, “lab girl” by hope jahren is part memoir part plant science and really engaging. also “the sixth extinction” by elizabeth kolbert if you want something that’ll make you think deeply about current environmental issues without being textbook-y.
