I've noticed a lot of popular science books are written by journalists. So I wonder whether you could recommend some books, particularly about evolution, sea creatures, maybe geology, or some niche topics written by actual nature scientists? I'm looking for something a bit easier than college textbooks, but if there are some that could be read by a layman, you can recommend them too 🙂 It would be nice if the author was an esteemed scientist, peer reviewed etc because what's important to me it's accuracy and being as scientific and factual as possible in the world of shifting paradigms. Thank you! 🙂

    1. Edit: not all of these are about nature, but they’re all written by scientists. I’ve read all of these in the last few years, and rated all of them 4 or 5 stars (out of 5)

I very much appreciate the spirit of your question, but bear in mind that even among excellent scientists of integrity, opinions about interpretation very greatly.
