I need a book reccomendation for a “Trendy Friend”

I have a friend who is looking for a book, i want to nail it. They have great taste in style and fashion and lifestyle in general- slightly on the "hipster" side but also hates things that are too aggresively trnedy.

I originally was thinking along the lines of Joan Didion or Patti Smiths book. Something culturally cool but maybe a little more obsure.

It can be short, in fact short is likely better.
