Hello, I am a 21 year old male who hasn’t read a book since middle school. I used to enjoy a few select books on my father’s kindle when i was younger but haven’t actually sat down and read one in a long while. I typically watch sci-fi, crime, murder romance and thriller movies. My recent favorites have been Crime 101 which just hit theaters, interstellar, her, send help, together, bone lake, the guilty, as above so below, oceans eleven. I also really enjoy listening to philosophy on youtube via Pursuit Of Wonder, although i’m not sure if I could read a 300 page book about it but I do enjoy it a lot.

Maybe try the Murderbot series by Martha Wells.
It’s a sci-fi series of really short books that’s often recommended for new readers as it’s really addictive and easy to read.
There’s a TV show adaptation if you want to have a preview but as fun as it is, the books are way better.
Interstellar:
In Ascension by Martin Macinnes
Together:
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
Send Help:
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
My brother got back into reading at about that age by reading The Godfather so check if any of your favorite movies were books first.
Maybe Tom Clancy or James Patterson or Michael Crichton would work.
