hello all,
i am 21, my parents weren't great to me – no schooling, among other things. i have just gotten out of a 6 year relationship and moved back 'home' to the satanic-monk-temple for the time being, and i'd like to distract myself and feel like more of a complete human.
my interests for which i'd like to choose for myself right now are going to be religion, history, and whatever 'classic' books build the foundation for hierarchy.
that i know of, i can read just fine; ive read some of the enid blyton noddy books and some of the new testament – as a child – not that i'd remember any of it. i can read just fine. but yeah, in terms of personal interest or actually finishing a book on my own volition, ive never done that.

Old Man and thr Sea? Its a classic and its on the short side. So shouldn’t be overwhelming.
Here’s some real advice, go to a book store browse Goodreads or Amazon or whatever. Find something that looks interesting to YOU and read it. There is a book that will speak to you, just gotta find it. The Wishsong of Shannara was the book that made me fall in love with reading and no one recommends Terry Brooks. Just gotta find something you like and read it.
