I need a horror read

First of all: English isn’t my native language and I apologize for any mistakes here. 🙂 I read in English or German.

I need a horror book and I need to read something to distract myself, I can’t sleep lately and I figured out that reading helps me a lot. I loved everything from H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King so far. Also enjoyed Penpal a lot. I am a huge horror fan especially the silent hill games. I love paranormal and abstract worlds.

I am looking for something that has a lot of world building and/or is paranormal. Something that gives me a feeling of unease and dread.

I am not the biggest fan of crime solving thrillers. Maybe I am biased but I feel like they repeat themselves often? In Germany we have something called Krimi (basically Murder Mystery/Crime fiction) and it is not for me. No hate tho, everyone likes different genres! 🙂
