Looking for books similar to My Side of the Mountian, or Hatchet but written for adults. Could be similar to Into the Wild, or even the first three in the Emberverse series where they are struggling to survive the first couple years. Can be true story or not, preferably modern times but I always enjoy post-apocalyptic. Basically I’m looking for a well written book about someone finding them selves suddenly stranded or retreating to the wilderness and building a life.

One Man’s Wilderness, by Sam Keith and Richard L. Proenneke
Have you read Jean Auel’s Earth’s Children series? The second book in particular has a lot I think you’d like if you don’t mind all the florid sex scenes.
Robinson Crusoe or Swiss Family Robinson are old but good!
