Hey everyone,
I recently got back into reading to spend less time on screens and let my imagination do some work, also for better mental health.
Books I’ve enjoyed in the past include:
I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh.
The Broken by Tamar Cohen.
The Lie by C.L. Taylor.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins.
The Whitby Witches by Robin Jarvis
Skin by E.M. Reapy.
The thing is, I am kind of surprised how much I liked "Skin" —it wasn’t something I’d usually pick up, but I found it randomly and really enjoyed it. I loved how vivid the settings felt, the beach and tropical vibes to the cosy feel of her grandma’s country home in Ireland.
I’m in the mood for something with that beachy, tropical feel yet mysterious atmosphere, like a woman finding herself, somewhere sunny but something feels off or sinister.
But I’m also open to snowy, isolated settings where things feel cosy but the locals aren’t quite what they seem or something along those lines.
Thanks in advance!

The Guilt Trip, by Sandie Jones
Oooh you might like Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk. It’s a moody-style mystery set in a rural Polish village.
If you’re open to horror and haven’t read it yet, The Elementals has that sun-drenched mysterious dread.
One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware
