– smut-like sexual scenes (detailed, multiple/many, preferably slow burning with tension)
– the book isn’t a smut or romance book
– there is an actual good story that is not romance (the sexual scenes can be within a romantic substory but that is not the main focus)

Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
Maybe the Outlander series? It is romance, but also historical fiction with time travel and adventure. And lots of sex.
The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera
Shogun by James Clavell. There isn’t much “smut,” but there is one brothel scene that’s a bit explicit. And there’s a slow burn romance subplot.
