Hey guys I'm 17 year old guy, highschool is almost over, iam completely lost in life, don't know what I want to do about my career, confused, worried, it feels like I am in a autopilot mode, feeling numb(not sad, or depressed, just numb), I don't like too much reading, but I just want you to suggest me a book for my situation, try not to suggest a self help book but let it be a story, novel thing,( I guess it maybe irrevelant but here are some movies i liked- interstellar, inception, shutter Island, avengers, the hangover.)

I would say take a deep breath. You don’t have to have all the answers, especially at 17.

I found Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (the book, not the movie) very comforting at that age and when I felt that way. It’s about a ~18 year old who feels like she has no future (and feels numb and listless) kind of ending up on an adventure. It’s really funny and relatable and easy to read and just one of my favorite books of all time (and it’s not a romance book, there’s way more action than romance in it lol)

I think a lot of people feel that way when they’re your age. Don’t worry though, nobody has their life figured out at 17, especially when they haven’t yet left high school. I know a lot of people who are figuring it out in their 20s, some even older, and that’s fine. When I was 17 I felt just like you did. It was a weird feeling to be finishing school after it took up so much of my life that it felt like it would never end, and I had no idea what I was going to do after. But graduating from high school and adjusting to being treated like an “adult” did SO much for me and I know what I’m doing now
