Hey gang,
I love big fat anthologies of short stories that take months to read, in the 700-1200 page range. I was wondering if any of y'all are aware of something like that in the horror genre. I prefer stories that were originally published from the 50s and on rather than older stuff. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I can think of a lot of good horror anthologies, but most aren’t that big. Peter Straub’s *Poe’s Children: The New Horror* is 500ish pages. Anything Ellen Datlow’s edited, including all the *Best Horror of the Year* stuff, is worth reading, but much shorter (300ish range for the Best Horror stuff). You could technically just read a few years’ worth and then get to your page requirement.
The Jeff and Ann VanderMeer-edited *The Weird* is 1,000+ pages and covers a wide historical range of great stuff, but some of it is more dark fantasy than horror, and it starts earlier than your cut-off near the beginning of the 20th century.
The Complete Fiction of H.P. Lovecraft from the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society edited by S.T. Joshi (1000+ pages).
*The Book of Chthulu* and it’s sequel has some older things, but it’s some heavy hitters in horror doing their best cosmic horror short stories. There is also *Out There Screaming* edited by Jordan Peele.
