After reading books about grocery stores being bought and closed, hospitals being bought and consolidated, schools being closed down, entertainment industry being consolidated and controlled, social media being bought and controlled, and journalism being consolidated I'm curious to know more about private equity. How it affects the world, economy, and people. How is it legal or illegal. Case studies. etc..

When McKinsey Comes to Town is not exactly PE but was a really interesting read.
Bad company megan greenwell is a pretty good read. She used to work for the athletic which got shut down after being bought by private equity, it talks about the people effected ( I think 4 separate families ) and the why and how they were put in that position.
I enjoyed it but I’d like to go deeper into the weeds so I’ll be following this thread
