Hello everybody. I'm looking for suggestions to a Fantasy/Horror novel. It can be part of a series.

I love fantasy. The Hobbit is my favorite book of all time. I love LOTR, but as an adult, I don't enjoy reading them. JRRT's style in LOTR trilogy just wasn't for me. Maybe I'm just a dummy and that's why I still love reading the hobbit. A little more focused. I haven't read GOT, but I'm honestly not in the mood for such a big series that probably won't get finished, especially after the TV show debacle soured me on the franchise. I like dwarves and goblins, all that stuff.

I also really like Stephen King. Salem's Lot is right behind Hobbit in my favorites. 11/22/63 is also one I enjoyed quite a bit. I wasn't a huge fan of Pet Semetary. I think the silly decisions of the protagonist took me out of it. (I understand the idea of why the story went that way). Joe Hill is another author in that genre, I love all of his stuff that I've read. Like father like son I guess.

So I'd like an immersive fantasy that also has horror/thriller aspects.

If you have any questions, please let me know and thanks for the help.

Aching God by Mike Shel. It’s about a knight and his small team of mages and warriors who have to return a cursed artifact to a crypt in a distant land. It’s basically Lord of the Rings written for horror fans. Lots of creepy monsters, dark moments and brutal deaths.
