I finished Interview with the vampire awhile back and am looking for book ideas to hit my goodreads goal of 50 books this year, What books could I look into that are similar? I am currently reading The Vampire Lestat right now, but I'm not far enough into it to form a strong opinion.
I really liked the relationship dynamic between Louis and Lestat in the beginning of the book, as well as the historical setting, although, I do think that Anne Rice could've handled it better. I understand the context as to why the plantation was necessary in order to write a wealthy man in the 1700s, I just don't think it translates well into the modern day. The POV being told by louis' dialogue was unique and refreshing, and It's unlike anything I've read before.

The Gilda Stories, by Jewelle Gomez
Empire of the Vampire is strongly influenced by interview with the vampire – it’s a story told as flashbacks during an interview of a vampire hunter by a vampire
