I’m about to finish “Cloud Cuckoo Land” and it is remarkable. I need recommendations for something amazing to read when I’m done with it so I don’t lose my reading Rythym and allow a year to go by without getting consumed by a book. Thanks!

    1. The Shadow of the Wind. Beautiful book that also is sort of an ode to books in general.

It’s been a while since I’ve read it (loved it though) but my first instinct was to recommend either A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Mara or Station 11 by Emily St John Mandel. The content is obviously different but both are really hauntingly beautiful literary fiction that gave me the same depth of emotion as Cloud Cuckoo Land.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is one of my absolute favorites. Here are some others I feel that fit in the same category of long, literary, contemporary novels

      The Antidote by Karen Russell
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (and most other David Mitchell books!)
The Book of Form and Emptiness by Ruth Ozeki
      The Nix by Nathan Hill
      There There by Tommy Orange
      The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
      Matrix by Lauren Groff
      Bewilderment by Richard Powers
