I recently finished a novel called “The Girl Next Door” by Jack Ketchum, which is a splatterpunk/extreme horror based on a real murder-torture of a teenage girl in the 60s. The novel contains detailed and graphic scenes of prolonged torture and violence inflicted to this girl caused by her aunt, cousins and other children/teens of the neighborhood. It makes you feel deep suffering and it shocks with the brutality.
Can you recommend other novels that causes shock and discomfort like this?
