Hello! I have been in a 'book rut' at the minute and I was wondering if anyone could give me some of their weird and wonderful recommendations. I like unexpected. Anything that will make you cry or curse is a plus. My most recent favs have been Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors and We Were Liars by E. Lockhart.

    Any suggestions are welcome!!!!!

I always recommend Lowtown by Daniel Polansky if you’re into dark, gritty, and irredeemable.

It’s very unique, and I’ve never read anything like it.

I cannot recommend Shark Heart by Emily Habek enough! Made me cry so hard. It’s about a man who has a terminal illness that turns him into a great white shark. INCREDIBLE read

I really liked wellness by Nathan hill, at the beginning it seemed like a simple love story but took me on a long meandering journey and was fun, interesting, emotional

I don’t think there’s a better way to describe Piranesi by Susanna Clarke than a weird and wonderful book! I highly recommend it.

Piranesi, The Starless Sea, and Cloud Cuckoo Land are all books I’d describe as “weird and wonderful”

    6. Angel Down by Daniel Kraus. I can’t stop thinking about it. It takes place on the battlefield during WWI. The book is one, long run-on sentence. This book made me feel so anxious but I really enjoyed it.
