I LOVE the zombie apocalypse genre, and would love to read about how it would work/pan out at different points and places in history!
What of the zombie outbreak happened in the soviet union? Victorian England? Nazi Germany?
I think it would be so interesting!

The Boneshaker series by Cherie M. Priest. Set in the American Civil War.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith. Set in the England’s Regency period.

You might also like World War Z honestly. Not historical fiction exactly, but it jumps around different countries and timeframes so you get that “how would this play out here” feeling.
Also maybe Deadlands if you’re okay with some weird west stuff mixed in.
