Hello everyone! I will soon be moving to the middle of the Mojave Desert. I love reading books set in places I plan to visit, and even more so if I plan to live there. I would love any recommendations for books in the Mojave!
Normally, I love fantasy and other general fiction. I like romance, but it is not required. I like stories with developed characters and a strong sense of place.

If you like audio dramas, I recommend We’re Alive: A Story of Survival.
Most of it takes place in the greater Los Angeles area, but one season (I won’t say which, because it’s a bit of a spoiler) is set at Fort Irwin, in the middle of the Mojave Desert!
I just checked and Sundial by Catriona Ward is set mostly in the Mojave desert
Desperation by Stephen King is a good one. Really leans into that empty desert feeling.
There’s one called A Fair System, Probably where the end of the world has a front desk. Set in the New Mexico desert, similar kind of dry, isolated vibe.
