22F. I loved How To Breathe Underwater by Julie Orringer and I’m looking for similar short story collections. I like heavy and complex writing.
I also recently read some Elena Ferrante and although her works aren't short stories, she has a similar style and I’m looking for something like this.
drop your favs, thanks! 🙂

I would recommend Mary Gaitskill’s Bad Behavior or Because They Wanted To. Also try Gloria Naylor’s The Women of Brewster Place.
Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado
She’s Always Hungry by Eliza Clark
The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits by Emma Donoghue
Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Marchado
Simple Recipes by Madeleine Thien
Where the Wild Ladies Are by Aoko Matsuda
Story Sanctum (www(dot)storysanctum(dot)org) has a number of good ones that meet what you’re looking for. The short stories are written by a variety of authors. You could check out “Snow Angels” for example.
Difficult Women by Roxane Gay
Mary Gaitskill
Alyssa Nutting ( not exactly feminist writers but in the general milieu)
M. Atwood – Old Babes in the Wood & others
1. No One Belongs Here More Than You by Miranda July.
2. We Want What We Want by Alix Ohlin.
Carmen Maria Machado’s Her Body and Other Parties is great, as others have said. Not short stories, but I do think her In The Dream House is a masterpiece.
Check out authors Julia Armfield and Alice Monroe
Curtis Sittenfeld has two published books of short stories: You Think It I’ll Say It and Show Don’t Tell. I thought they were both excellent.
