omg i read this book called “the girls” by emma cline a while back and it’s not exactly high schoolers taking down a cult but it has major cult vibes and the main character is a teenager. super eerie atmosphere.

Maybe Armageddon Summer by Jane Yolen and some co-author. The teenagers don’t quite take down the cult, but they comport themselves *very* well in the end.
