New to reading

Hi, I’m 18 and reading has never interested me until I finally found a book that had me hooked. Any recommendations for books that are about romance but are also gut wrenchingly sad? Or just any good story that’s sad and interesting.

Ex: I recently finished “Atonement”, by Ian McEwan. I also read “The Winter Soldier: Cold Front”, because I like marvel and it made me cry. I’m currently reading “The Road” by Cormac McCarthy.
